Is RBS Training MANDATORY in California?
RBS Training IS Mandatory. Effective July 1, 2022, RBS training is required by CA Assembly Bill 1221 and Assembly Bill 82. On-premises alcoholic beverage servers and their managers must successfully complete an ABC approved RBS training program and exam no later than August 31, 2022, or within 60 days of initial employment.
How long is my RBS Certification Valid?
RBS Certification Is Valid for 3 years. You will need to recertify every 3 years.
Do I need to complete RBS Training all at one time?
Nope! You can take it at your own pace. Your progress will automatically be saved.
What Forms of payment are accepted?

Do Managers of a licensed California ABC on premise establishment need to be RBS Certified?
All managers and staff of an “On Premise” establishment need to be certified. On premise means that customers purchase and consume alcoholic beverages onsite.
Do I get a Physical copy of my RBS Alcohol Certification?
No digital certification is issued by California ABC. Upon completing training and the final exam, a certification number is issued and valid for 3 years. Your RBS Certification can be found on your ABC RBS Portal at https://abcbiz.abc.ca.gov/ Your employer can also reference Your server ID number for verification.
